PUL (or polyurethane laminate) is made of a thin 100% polyester interlock fabric which is laminated with a breathable waterproof 1 mil film. This fabric has been tested and is BPA free. It has been proven to be durable through both industrial and home laundry steam sterilization. Compared to traditional plastic pants, diapers made with PUL are quieter, antibacterial, and resistant to mildew.

Sewing Tips:

When sewing with PUL use a ballpoint needle and 100% polyester thread. Also whenever possible sew with the waterproof side down and the fabric side up. When you need to sew with the waterproof side both up and down, as with a pail liner or wet bag, try using a nylon-coated presser foot or a walking foot which will help prevent the foot from catching on and dragging the fabric.
